they were 5 to 6cm Grant , i believe i bought them with a disease , they kept dropping off 1 by 1 , no other fish was affected (C.pleurospilous C.leptosoma, S.multipunctatus and peppies) , i generally dont lose fish but this had me stumped , i noticed quite a few dying at the shop weeks later. but noone has a crystal ball.

Chen , i have a Ndole bay here you are welcome too , if you can put me name down for some fry when you are ready

Ozjayok , i have found someone to share the colony with me whom is capable , these are not a learners fish they are level 4 in B2N the reason i put out a EOI is they were only for sale to someone i deemed capable of breeding/raising the fry and with whom i would keep in touch to ensure we could swap adults to get good M/F ratio's.

Reddevil ,they may have been my old colony. you must not have set the tank up correctly or had enough fish , males will constantly show good colour if they have the right surrounds , good water condition and the right size tank with an exceptable layout.


will have both colonies in my tanks by mid next week.

lol thanks kris , just remember i am only just completing the collection i had 5 years ago now....... and i think its cost me a lot more this time round

the other thing is i only have two tanks , and only one with a decent foot print . maybe the C.foae "magara" will have to got when the enant's grow up and want to spawn

Mrs said last night maybe i should get another tank.... but i am well aware this will turn into a disastor and i will lose a spare bedroom.

hopefully i can make good use of my pond project and stop buying bloody fish!!!!.

I didn't realise it was a disease. I thought some fish kept on killing them at night time, picking them off one by one cause they died one by one. Always missing one in the morning or every 2nd morning.

One night I was watching and i saw my red head Tapajos chasing them so I thought it was them and i sold off my red head Tapajos. Then the fish stopped dissapearing for a while then it happened again! Coupe more xeno's dissapeared. I was confused and ended up assuming there must be another suspect in there.

I ended up selling my 30cm Decorus too coz I was scared it was chasing the lil fishies and stressing them to death or even eating them.

Sad.


But they since stopped dissapearing... strange


Maybe can trade some of my fry (when and if I get some) for some of your Enantioopus sp. kilesa fry =)

got the E.melanogenys today alot bigger than expect , some showing slight signs of colour on the dorsal , but that doesnt meen anythin could be 4 to 6 months away from seeing anything out of these guys , will keep you posted in another thread

yeah no prob, i was just trying hard to be a funny ****. beautiful fish btw and yeah checked out some pics on the web they do have a resemblance to sand whiting...whats this level 4 in B2N mean anyway?

Back to nature guide is a book by Ad Konings , part of the information is the level of difficulty to breed the scale goes from 1 to 5 , his description of level 5 is that they can rarely be bred in aquaria due to size , agro etc etc

there are very few level 4 fish listed , but the Enantiopus group are level fours

where as frontosa for instance are a level 2.
