Went to malaga today and saw a decent sized fresh water eel in the cichlid section. Didn't have a price or name, forgot to ask about it. Anyone from malaga mind giving me name and price please?

Thanks Peter

hey im wondering, i will call malaga if i get no reply but i was wondering how much a 4ft tank by like 18 height would cost with a stand like if you could get a package deal. How much would i be sort of looking to pay for a tank like that?

I would be greatful for any help provided tongue.gif

The freshwater eel is an Anguilla bengalensis labiata (African mottled eel) it is common in East Africa (very rare in AUS) it enters Lake Malawi via the Zambesi and Shire Rivers.

The eels we have are not an anguilla they are Gymnothorax and appear to be the sp polyuranodon (Freshwater moray) they are feeding and doing exceptionally well in the shop tanks.

Cheers

I've seen these eels. Much nicer looking then the Anguilla.

Nice yellow and black contrast.

Went the other day to Malaga. Clean tanks, nice range of fish and they're cheap best of all great service. I got my water tested and had a look around..

I saw the freshwater eels at Malaga and they were fantastic looking. I think Dave said they grow to 60cm and if I remember correctly, (correct me if I am wrong Kevin / Les), they are $500.
