Just for kicks I thought to see what test equipment people have and how often it is used?

 

 

I have some cardboard strips (still!) and the api master FW test kit.

 

Also kh & gh test kits. As well as iron and potassium.

 

Lastly a digital ph pen to check the ph controller on the co2 injection.

 

 

I'd say I test nitrates and phosphate every 1 to 2 weeks. Check ph and kh/gh about every 1 or 2 months. Potassium rarely (although it involves 5 bottles so makes up for it in time maybe )

I have the following:

API Freshwater Master Test Kit

API Phosphate Kit

API GH & KH Test Kit

API 5 in 1 Aquarium Test strips

SERA FE (Iron) Test kit

 

That's what I can remember I have off the top of my head. Might have some other stuff for testing water.

I only test the water if the fish aren't looking 100% healthy, or if I get a sick (or dead) fish in a tank, or if I've started up a new tank and want to track the nitrogen cycle

Will have to check what test kit brand I have for iron.

Actually hate the iron test kit I have and tempted on this for a new toy. Link below just an example.
