ive looked up my old post and it seems ive used the 20-40 grit size.  its not sharp, if it'll help you, i can pick some garnet on the tank and send it so you can compare to what you have there.  I also found that some abrasive supply shops have different tagging on sizes.

http://www.riversand...u/filter-garnetthat's where i got mine,  they have some specs sheet so you can compare.  They use the garnet for filtration.

#349259 New 5X3 Getting Ready For Rays And Pbass

Posted by litigator666 on 31 January 2016 - 05:31 AM

I had redhooks (luna) and uarus on my tank a few years ago. They are interesting fish to go with rays and they school. Recently there were some blackberry silver dollars that came in from bayfish but i missed out. I was only able to track one but found out they were noxious here so had to let it go. The blackberry looks nice and basically a redhook with black patch on the body - not the vertical bands. There were also tiger silver dollars that came, just not sure where they are now.

found another one.  a couple of years ago with Living Color (Fishtank Kings) corals - fake marine look. Wish I have kept the coral set.  Always mistaken as a marine tank.

#341055 Multiples Saratoga Jardini

Why not just place silver arowanas on that deep tank. They might even breed for you and you can recover your investment.

if you can start them off as small and grow them together it may work.  i tried mature ones but ended as a failure.  my tank is 2.6x1x.75.  I'm doing another trial with americans as companions and having some luck keeping some (oscar, jaguar, blackbelt and reddevil) alive.  If i can get some cheaper jardini's I might risk it again.  i think i have some pics on MFK of my jardinis.

#325247 Can Saratoga Go With Mono Argent?

Posted by litigator666 on 20 August 2014 - 08:32 PM

why not do a colony of jardinis?

i'm trialling a small colony of saratoga.  here's the poor man's arowana with a regular jardini.  they are on a community tank and dont bother each other much.  hunting for a liechardti as the third fish now.

Sad to say, the normal jardini got caught in between my ray tank divider and it was too late for me to see.  I now only have the poor man's arowana.

#319245 Beware Scammer/fraud: Joel S Mccorkindale Pls Pass On

Posted by litigator666 on 24 June 2014 - 02:43 PM

we will have a new Aus version of "neil - the bounty hunter".  Any chance of a government reward for Joel's head?

My case was way back Jan14 and I know of people before that still waiting for action.  The law seems to be too lenient for people like Joel.

Don't have a handy pic, but this is a 75cm sutchi shark with my superspot at the bottom.  I have a few pics in MFK (im using the same username) so if interested you can check it out.

By the way, the tank on the 2nd pic is 2ftwide (holding tank while waiting for my bigger tank).  you can see it reaching the end of the glass with its disk and the tail not fitting.  she can stretch lengthwise but making a turn was a struggle.

JUST AN UPDATE.

this guy is still out there scamming people.  I've been contacted by a latest victim who saw this post on the net.  Joel is dealing with non-pet related items as well.  BUYER BEWARE and don't be a victim.

#313813 Scammer; Buyer Beware

Posted by litigator666 on 23 April 2014 - 07:08 PM

sorry to hear that Jules.  I just browse through this part of the site.

by the way, i was the one scammed by Joel and still have no update from the police.  To the other members,  please note that Joel is still out there scamming people (even non-pet related deals).  I have recently been contacted by a guy in Vic and he had been scammed and saw the post on this forum about Joel.  it's a good thing also that this perthcichlid.com.au allows posting like this as all my other post got deleted by admin from other forums.  It could have been a warning for other people.

It's very frustrating that these scammers are still out there despite being reported to the police.  I'm still hoping that the police are still on this case and not sleeping on the job.  Not wanting to suggest vigilante revenge but we have laws.
