Go to the Marmion street fish monger out Melville way, QLD shortfin eels (what they advertise them as) are about $40 a kg and I'm sure none of them would way more then that - around 50cm in length, just ask for it live haha.....

There are live eel sales (for food) in WA. The only ones I know of that have been purchased for aquariums haven't ended well but I think a decent setup and some good live food initially would do the trick.
