Hey Guys,

Just wondering if anyone is breeding Senegal Bichirs? I'm looking to buy a young one soon and want to know availability not too keen on buying any above 15cm.

Cheers,
Elliott

I've been looking for one for a while now, apparently there used to be a guy on this forum who bred Senegals and even managed to get some Delhezi's breeding but according to an LFS I called up a few days ago he stopped sad.gif

Females thicker overall, males have a larger anal fin. Anal fin on the males usually a little fleshier at the base, often with a dark margin.

I stopped collecting Senegal eggs about 12 months ago because they were becoming too common and I was having a hard time moving them on. The Delhezi have spawned a few times and I have some young ones about 12cm long all are spoken for. I'll collect a few batches of eggs but it will be months before they are ready to sell.

Cheers Terry

It's difficult to sex them from a pic, the top one is probably a boy.

agreed looks like a male on top, which i've found males are reallllyyy hard to get ahold of, 99% of what i've seen f/s has been girls.

O wow, only $200?
Previous one I had cost me $300.

I wonder why there's more females > males.
