Good list. Some real nice fish in there. Interesting to see Amphilophus labiatus from the hazelwood ponds. I wonder how they compare to the other labiatus on offer. I was hoping there may be a few other CA's on offer. Still some great fish that would be great to see more of here. :)

I saw them years ago when Hienz in Melb was collecting them, They werent bad but still prefer the normal aquarium strain.
Some butt ugly zebra cichlids in the pondage too.

Yeah hybrid city it looks like since doing some googling. The fish are reshuffling themselves to surviving in their new pond home.

I hear along the grapevine that the pond will no longer be heated (google Hazelwood Pondage to why its heated) so there is a possibility that the cichlids that live in it may no longer be able to survive. Oooooooor will nature find a way.......

Anyways....

On ace there is a thread about this. Apparently though th e power station is closing down they plan for the ponds to still be g rated for at least another 20 year from some other source and thus why they are continuing their release of barra seasonally for now.

On ace there is a thread about this.

Im not allowed on ACE... My forum name is too business like apparently :P

So Im thinking everyone should say what they are getting so the people in Perth dont double up, Im quite happy to share some fishes around once I get them up and breeding.
Would be a smart move if we all got different species and got them breeding to share around WA instead of sending them all East.

Thoughts?

I won't be getting any of these fish but I'm a bit confused, it seems that some on the list are from overseas and some from the eastern states.

Are the Thorichthys maculipinnis from overseas? or are they the inbred ones that have had the deformed ones culled.

I think I should elaborate on my last post, that is a fabulous list of fish to be bringing into the state. WELL DONE AQUOTIX

My concern is that people may order fish that are already readily available thinking that it is new breeding stock.

Imported means that the fish are from overseas, this means new blood to our dwindling breeding stock, bringing fish across the WA border is not importing them.

I questioned the same thing myself whilst perusing the list to see if I was interested too Terry. The Elliiotti being a part of my focus as well. Thank you for voicing as it confirms my thoughts.
