#362915 Chasing A Trio Of Royal Whiptails After Something Whipped Out My Bunch

Posted by Craig on 07 August 2017 - 07:41 AM

It might be worth working out what wiped out your original ones so it doesn't happen again.

#352951 Beamswork Led 120Cm 8500K Or 10,000K?

Posted by Craig on 17 June 2016 - 01:03 PM

I have the 10k and it is very bright. It even worked for my marine tank corals until i upgraded.

I think the 8500 is more than enough.

The kelvin rating is related to the colour of the light, not its intensity.

10000k is a 'bluer' looking light compared to 8500k, which will be more of a 'white' light.

Jezza, to match the light in the picture, I would suggest 10000k.

Another little update. LHS is still being stubborn, but I'm doing my best to tame it :)

Thanks Riggers. Yep, running pressurised CO2. Can't have a proper planted tank without it in my opinion.

Next time don't rinse the aquasoil. It will turn to mud and cloud the tank for a long time (as you're experiencing).

The rules did state that the tank didn't have to be your own, you only had to take the picture. If a member of the forum owns the tank, I'd be very interested to hear

#284501 Fs Ati Powermodule 6X24 T5Ho Light + Globes

Posted by Craig on 21 May 2013 - 11:47 PM

I am regrettably selling my 6x24W ATI Powermodule.

It is in 'as new' condition and includes digital timer, hanging kit and 8 globes (3x Hagen Life Glo, 2x Sylvannia Grolux, 2x ATI Aquablue Special and 1x ATI Purple Plus. Globes vary in age from 2 months old to brand new - still plenty of life remaining.)

I also have ATI marine globes available, all unused.

Look here to see what it is capable of:

I am asking $350 for everything. You can check out AOA to see the retail price without globes.

#258138 My Planted Tank - Old School Dutch Style

Posted by Craig on 01 August 2012 - 10:12 PM

Cheers Az and you are right, back then I would never have believed I could ever do something like this.

It just goes to show that passion, hard work and a willingness to learn/listen goes a long way in this part of the hobby.

Quick update on the tank - Removed and rearranged a few plants today to fill out the left side of the scape. If anyone is interested in plant cuttings from this tank, just drop me a PM. I usually trim this tank on a weekly basis.
