Tandanus tandanus are commercially produced over east and are sold for about $2.00 each from the hatchery. Black eeltails - Neosilurus ater are not commercially bred or sold. They were not so long ago produced in Queensland by Ausyfish. Neo's are wonderfully friendly, chilled out great looking fish. T. tandanus grows bigger is much more territorial, is always a mottled colour and has a big comparitively ugly head.
As aquarium subjects, there really is no comparison. $150.00 is way over market value imo but in fairness to sellers they are quite rare and as such I suppose they can name their own price.

Tandanus Tandanus are native to Queensland, NSW and Victoria (I'm pretty sure). Neosilurus Aters are native to the Northern Territory and far North WA (Possibly even North West Queensland). The 2 I'm getting are fairly expensive. Almost forgot, Tandanus have different fins to Neos.
