Great news.

We are really pleased to announce that the speaker for the meeting on Feb 3rd will be Oliver ( Mr_Docfish) from Aquotix.

Oliver hasn't given a talk for some years now, so it is a bit of a coup for the PCS.

Oliver has been answering questions on fish Health & Disease and many other topics on the forums so this should be a very interesting talk. To have someone with his qualifications & knowledge talk to us means that I can guarantee we will all learn something.

There will be the usual great supper, raffle, Members prize & the library will be open to Financial Members.

Hope to see you all there.

Sounds like a great meeting. Oliver if you read this - I'm assuming your covering fish diseases in your talk. If this is the case can I request you cover the issue of quarantining new fish ie. duration, what to look for, basic treatments, etc, etc.

That's a good point, I'll write that one down.... any other suggestions or requests would be great... it has been a while since I have done a talk, so I am going to be a bit rusty...

Good idea.... can remain anonymous if required...

I intended to mainly talk about some common and not so common medications and where to use them (and not use them) I'll incorporate that in the rest of the talk...I might not be able to go over everything, and some might get a bit lost, but individuals can ask direct questions at any time to get more info if required.

Hi Sazabi,
I don't know who you are replying to or if you are asking a question but:-

All Monthly Meetings and Auctions are not just for Financial Members, they are open to members of the public as guests..

Maybe a short spiel on how important it is to monitor water quality......eg: Test Kits. I think that every person who owns an aquarium should have at least a basic Ph, Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate an KH Test kit on hand........would help avert many disastrous losses of fish.

I will be doing it mainly off the top of my head - sort of ad-lib style, going with the flow of what the people are interested in at the time - ie, see where the questions lead us... you can video tape it if you want, otherwise, I can write up a summary afterwards for those that missed out.
