I would like to set up a 6 foot predator tank.
I really wanted red belly piranhas but was informed that was a large no no.

What can people suggest that are unique fish's with attitude?

What kind of money are you willing to spend? Makes a big difference in what your choices are limited to.

6 by what is the other thing?
6x2x2 - eels, knives, smaller cats, puffers, rays, bichirs, L umbers
6x3 aros, peacock bass, red tail cat, giant gourami,TSN, theres a few other big cats around ATM, tropical gars, tigrinus (if your wallet allows it), Megalodoras cats, Niger cats, Lungfish, Pacus
6x6 Aba Aba, Gigas(for a while), Alligator gars, Blue sharks.
Theres litterally heaps around, though like den said depends on what you want to spend, for 5 or so fish id budget around $2200, unless ofcorse you have expensive taste

Maybe you could get a mangrove jack or Barramundi? They wont cost much and they fit into the "predator" catagory, but in a 4 foot you wont be able to keep them for long as most predators get big-fast, and judging by your piranha comment you should try and get some more experience first as predators are more for advanced hobbiests as they require high water maintenance compared to the average fish due to their large appetities and the extra mess created by live foods.

If you want rare and unusual it will cost you dollars with two to three zeros after the first number!

Cheers

you could still keep bichirs in a 4 footer, my three are in a four and theres heaps of room for em, even fire eels or tyre track eels, would go ok.
i know the PCS frowns upon Flowerhorns but i love em and have two in a four footer ATM,they do quaral, but have heaps of persoinality.

tyre track eels are great to keep and are not expensive to buy ! we had a nice one it used to burrie its self under the gravel and plants and you could just see the head sticking out was a nice active eel, untill one day we found it 10m down the hall, we have looked for more but havnt seen any around for a while

Thats why we don't feed goldfish to my barra or black bream any more... its just too disturbing to watch. 8O

but then again they do need to have live food and i am not 100% against it... just watching it is a bit gruesome
