Apologies Jeromy, I was not taking shots at you.

I expected that you would know what you were doing, but I feel so many people don't think these things through.

a perfect example would be the Barra that you brought up. They cannot be simply released into waterways locally (need warm H2O to be succesful). Barra can also attain 2 meters and with so many floating around I can see a problem in the future.

I just took this as a chance to show the general population the thought process that one should go through when thinking of housing a monster.

I just meant to make an example of this so everyone realises what they are getting themselves into. I think that you should understand that I was just trying to write something educational for everyone.

I also dont feel its ethical to sell barra. these fish can be bought for nothing at a size of 10 cm but have the potential to get 2 meters long. I have read so many threads and journal articles about this problem (mainly in the states though I have to admit as the real big fish are easily availabe there). It just both saddens and angers me that so many people don't think these things through. Obviously you have but now at least someone else that would not have considered these factors will read what problems they face, but you also have provided possible solutions so in total other potential tankbuster keepers are properly informed about it.

Sorry if you feel I was having "a go" but how often do we all hear the story of someone that has a fish that grows to over a meter inside a tank that isn't even wide enough for it to manouver. I just want everyone to "understand" the needs of the fish.

Don't get offended, help me out. A person of your experience could teach the community a lot about these things.

Apologies back to you, I understand your point and think that it is quite a problem, one which is not thought of by many unexperienced and experienced fish keepers. Apologies again.
