i would also like this whole thread removed as i read some of these posts and see lines being crossed.

i believe Lohanman is directly promoting himself as a high quality FH breeder to all who read this and ask the committee to immediately deal with his posts with the current rules in place .

in fact i can not believe the committe has let this rubbish carry on as long as they have.

IMO anyone admitting to breeding FH is soliciting the fact they will sell them and encouraging people to PM them and sell these Hybrids.

clean this post up , allowing this post to go on is directly contrevening the PCS policy and should be sorted immediately

Cheers

You cant be serious?
What i am Not, is promoting myself, or the sales of hybrids..
What i am promoting is ethics..
What i am promoting is knowledge!
Ive done nothing but discuss the importance of keeping low grade flowerhorns off the market as it benefits everyone..
I have explained what can be done to help PCS cause which is meant to be keeping pure species pure right?
I have kept on topic, and NOT broken any T&C's
My fish are not for sale and never will be on here..
See this is what i was talking about, noone will learn a thing if you keep deleting every thread that has anything to do with hybrids
Now others might understand the points i raised earlier re: hybrid sub-forum..

Seriously, i offer help, and this is the way you return the favor?
How about having a bit of respect, let others learn so they can make informed decisions, and stop coming up with lame reasons to close threads..

I would be quite happy for admin to check my pm's, he can display them here if he likes..

Would you like to make any other false accusations or take the opportunity to attack my character any more??

Regards, Paul..

Having been following this thread for quite some time and even wanting it to remain I think that what is needed is a succinct final comment by the interested party and lock this puppy down. We are now rehashing earlier information with little to gain.

Love debate, hate repetition.

My final comment on this subject. Respect is something that is earned, it cannot be demanded from behind a keyboard.

I agree with Lawdog Lock this puppy down.
That is 2 votes from a Committee of 7

I truly believe this thread should be locked, deleted and forgotten about.

The facts remain.

This society and the forum that follows it, is centered around the preservation and promotion of pure species.

There are PLENTY of hybrid forums to post your knowledge and for sales posts on.

Luohanfan- I don't know you from a bar of soap. This is because you have about 30 posts, about 20 of which are from this thread. If you were a long term member who i had seen answer questions, posts pics etc I could take you more seriously.BUT the fact of the matter is, you have bugger all posts, have answered no questions and are a self proclaimed expert, not a club member/ Why should I take you seriously? ..... I don't.

If we are going to start promoting hybrids here... We may as well start selling moori X venustus hybrids.

This thread is rubbish. This place is about preserving natural species. If you want to talk up hybrids and promote there keeping. Use a hybrid site. SIMPLE. This site is for pure species.

What I can see is. Perth wise.... this place gets the most traffic out of any place.... thats why the hybrid lovers want hybrids promoted here.... bulk traffic

........................................................................

Times like this I wish I had my old tankbusters.... because i know a RTC or two that would snack on even the most robust hybrids...

Lets get over it!

I have been on the Committee for about 14 years, most of the time I put up my hand because nobody else wanted to, I informed the Committee 2 weeks ago that I will not be standing for any Committee positions next year, so instead of whinging about how evil we are nominate for the job. As always there will be 10 vacant positions.

Hi Terry, I understand the situation regarding the committee positions, I certainly appreciate the job they do, I dont have any problem with any individual, I have a problem with the system. The only way the committee members can avoid problems and confrontations with members both club and forum is to pass the responsibility of decision making to the club members where possible through an organised democratic process.

Give forum users the opportunity to have a "real" say on issues like hybrids(people from both sides of the arguement) through club membership and you will increase club membership and eliminate most confrontations between members and the committee/chairman, and the club will serve the wants of the majority.

Im happy either way the vote would turn out on the hybrid issue, as long as all members get a fair say and vote on this issue.

PS I object to Steves self nomination for the committee, his reasons as he has expressed are self serving and for one purpose, an effort to exploit the current undemocratic system and rule the club his own way.

Cheers

I agree that this post is just going around in circles and should be locked. Some of the content does cut close to promotion.
The fact is that the club has a democratic system where members elect from those people who nominate for those positions to be on the committee. The members trust the committee to run the club to the best of their ability and in line with the constitution and their wishes. Members will always be listened to and complaints and issues dealt with appropriately. Forum users are not ignored and any beneficial feedback is always appreciated. The Club has been running for over 20 years with many different people with different views serving on the committee and many people who have been members at various stages. During this time the club has always stuck to its aims including the banning of Hybrids. This shows that it is not just on a whim, it is a strong belief within the club as a whole for the history of this club.

Hybrids are bad for the club and for the hobby as they threaten the natural species we have within the hobby. Flowerhorns are only one section of problem. The whole area of Market generated hybrids/Dyed Fish/Fish mutilation is vigorously opposed by the club.
The issue of fish released into the water ways is one that affects all exotics. Some of the exaggerated characteristics exhibited by some hybrids such as a heightened aggression level and a greater level of tolerance to various conditions make them a higher risk.
We as a club wish to educate people as to the dangers of keeping and breeding hybrids, not accepting some "higher quality" ones.
There will always be a market for people who wish to keep Hybrids, its human nature for people to want different things. There are websites who cater for those interested and a simple Google search will find them.
This club and many others stand for protection of natural species. We may not agree with each other; however we ask that you respect the Clubs mission, its rules and the wishes of its members.

Tony
