monsta what are they?, there cool as i never seen anything like them before
If you're referring to the lizard like fish they are Polypterus Endlicheri or Tiger Bichir.
They can fetch from about $300 for fry up to $500+ for large specimens private sale that is, in the shops I've heard theyve got up to $1300 over east.

not exactly tank busters like everyone else but heres a shot of my tank.

closer shot of the jardini's, (these two guys have been together for about a month and have shown no sign of aggression towards each other. they move everywhere together, thinking of a third tongue.gif )

had this fella in with the jar's and he made them piss. beat them up a bit too much so i had to take him out. he's sitting in a much smaller tank atm.

have a smaller toga and some pbass but too small to capture on phone camera. 8O

RE JArdini : Looking at their mouths and head shapes in the last pic there appears to be differences, it may be a M&F pair?,I would guess male on RHS and Female on LHS, hence the lack of aggression, adding a third one may be risky.

the one on the left has slightly turned to it's right and opened it's mouth, which makes it kinda hard to really see the difference.

More photos! biggrin.gif

as with all arowanas there is no real way of telling the sex some have a longer jaw than others but that means nothing there may be a chance you have a pair but who realy knows
its cool that you have two jars together havnt seen this before when they are that size maybe one day they will pair up and spawn 8)

true... on the dinner plate! laugh.gif  j/k

just think that if you have any chance of them pairing off, surely those chances would be increased by losing the barra...

also... two awesome toga's and a barra? doesnt sound right... laugh.gif

would look wikid just having those two togas imo...

haha thanks guys.
i was suprised aswell, i kept a close eye on them for the first few days incase anything happened but nothing as yet. the smaller one is actually my friends who needed to house him somewhere as he was doing a tank upgrade. the one on the lhs is about 45cm, the other is only 30cm. just my bad angle and camera work making them look the same.

as with the barra, old mans idea.. its actually restaurant barra, not hobby type.. if theres a difference biggrin.gif
