#366187 July Meeting - Dr Richmond Loh - Cichlid Diseases.

It was great!

And my son said he learnt fish can get diarrhoea so something for everyone [emoji51]

(My goodness though - such a range of possible causes - was great to see a vet’s experience).

#366100 Need Advice On A Big Canister Filter

Posted by Delapool on 21 June 2018 - 10:06 PM

Ive got the 2700 which has been generally pretty good. Was the biggest I could fit in cupboard. Mine has a UV unit which I consider a waste of space in a canister filter and on the previous one rusted out.

Good news is this plant is now staying in the pot. Bad news is there is one leaf left. Roll on next auction I think :)

You should invest in a dosing pump and you wont have to worry about dosing ferts.
I have been thinking about doing that but i enjoy the daily "hello fishies!" routine, especially with the baby angelfish I just picked up on the weekend. So cute!

Kind of tempting :)

Lol, I do like angelfish - always up to something and not hiding away.

The yoyo loaches are great but always off chasing their tail or something.

Looking good! Nice to see another build thread.

Out of interest - is it on wooden flooring? Been looking at houses.

Thanks for the share! Sad news on the loss back then.

Just out of interest I’ve asked my father if quarantine would do anything special or how they view charcoal.

Sounds like time to retire it :)

Would be great to grab some (maybe at a meeting?) sometime.

The potted plant has survived over weekend - hopefully gets some new growth soon and gets going.

Pulled the java fern and bolbitis out and cleaned them up. Rearranged the wood pile while I was at but pretty similar to before.

The ferts dosing has been helping. Plants looked better than before.

Thought about adding more substrate but couldn’t be bothered in the end.

Did add an anubias coffeefolia plant and hopefully it does well.

#365709 Fish Lost In Balls

Used to have catfish lost into underground filters all the time. Apart from bit of a shock on finding, seemed to go back ‘upstairs’ with no problems.

#365679 How Far Can Fish See?

Posted by Delapool on 18 April 2018 - 11:42 AM

Anyone know how far fish can see outside the tank? Feel like I’m constantly stalked by a posse of fish in this small lounge.

Can see the blood and bone working quite well, I assume it will cause spikes and settle down / soak into clays - will be great to see it progress.

My brother in law does I think. Looked pretty good. One with a cross-shape and 4 props I think.
