Took me a second to comprehend what the sand was on that soles back haha.

Everything looks like they're getting big n strong! What are you feeding the sooty?! Mines getting bigger but isn't as big as yours quite yet, yours looks heaps bigger than mine! I wanna speed his growth up a tad so he can go in my main tank sooner, he's picking on the angels and rainbows he's with a little bit haha.

Ater is a cute lil guy, cant really say the same about my sly guy  ;)

Sooty is eating prawn, fish fillet & Hikari Carni pellets.
He stuffs himself to the gills every night.
I do about 60% water changes every week. Super clean water gets them growing fast.

Nice photos mm. The first sooty I grabbed off you is pushing 12 cm now I reckon but the other one has hardly grown at all. Same tank, same food but the bigger one eats pellets and the little one won't touch them.coal grunter and scats still rule the tank though, until the Murray cod gets bigger anyway. What fish fillets do you use? I tried a few from the fishmonger but whitebait is the only fish I can get him to eat.Attached File  image.jpg   129.99KB   4 downloadsAttached File  image.jpg   153.51KB   4 downloadsAttached File  image.jpg   136.32KB   4 downloads

My 2 metre by 1 metre by 1 metre up and running. It's not fancy but it lives in my shed and was cheap. Still a work in progress but it's going well.it doesn't look it but there are 2 six foot logs in there. Looks a bit barren with no substrate but way easier to clean and there are never any food scraps

I disagree, that is one fancy (sized) tank. Nice fish selection!

Have your Neo's touched those snails or any of the other fish?

Got a yawning photobomb in the back of that first image too haha.

Thought I might add this too... What a cool looking dude! https://www.gumtree....fish/1162534085

Any fillets really... Whatever's on special.
It's only a few dollars once a week. Cheap and easy!

Haven't eaten any snails yet but I know they will eventually. Just enjoying growing them out at the moment to see which one ends up being my favourite. It used to be the sleepy cod until he ate one of my Murray cods ha ha

None in ages mate.
Maybe talk to Finn at Arapaima Exotics... might be able to get something and send it over. Can vouch for their shipping.

Pretty stoked with mine. It's active all the time. Smaller tank probably helps them feel a little less vulnerable.

Ice, what are you feeding yours?

I want to get mine on small sinking pellets but it appears they cant be bought anywhere in Geraldton :brickwall:

Giving it a block of brine shrimp every second day, seems fat and happy from what Ive seen of it (not much at all). Ill get it on to pellets once it gets a bit bigger and more confident. I had hoped they would have been kept on pellets as they were weaned onto them at the hatchery apparently. The bloke that had them before us has spoiled them and ruined their appetite for pellets.
