Are these allowable in Australia or ever have been?

Yep, they rarely come up for sale. Usually 3-5k a pop.

I haven't seen any juveniles for sale for quite a few years. Not to say that there hasn't been any at all though.

The one that came up on pleco planet was relatively small, maybe 30cm. I cant find the post.
