Well done mate, looks like its coming together nicely and will be a nice setup once finished.

What sort of build time does it take, a few days over a few weeks?? Should make them and flog them off, im sure ppl would be intereseted.

Id love to do something like this, just not game enough to try

the glass will be sealed and held by good old silicone, there is a good amount space on the recess for the glass/silicone to stick to. Will be stuck to the epoxy/fibreglass, but will be beaded around the edges inside and out

Did you draw up any plans for this tank or just made it from your head as you were cutting? Would you be able to post the plans if you have them?

I can probably draw up something a bit neater than my scratches that I did before I started. But I did quite a few drawings of it, to work out costing and what I wanted...

as for the stock list i havent decided yet but i have barry and scarface which will be going into it....

my wife told me today that the black makes it look smaller... she then quickly backed that up with "it doesnt need to be bigger.. its looks plently big enough".. we will see...

after 2 coats of enamel its starting to look the part

You gotta be happy and excited with that.
The rewarding feeling is intense.
Encased set ups like this with black surround and one face view panels,, really brings out the best in the inhabitants appearance.
Taking individual pics of specimens in that will expose the best pictures.

so... for anyone who was thinking of doing something similar, order the glass as/before you start.. went to bunnings today to find out that the size of glass i want to use is a special order size .... be nice if it mentioned that on the product information on the website

I could use a smaller peice and still get the job done, but i would rather wait then comprimise on it...

so now i may aswell start on the sump and start to work out bulkheads and such

apart from that be giving it a wash out this weekend, get all the dust and crap out of it....

i'll get some pics of the sump up soon....

the waiting continues....
