hi,

So i'm just about to purchase a 6x2 or a 4x2 tank and planning on starting a planted community tank. i plan on getting plants such as java fern, anubias varieties, and basically anything that grows really well.

ive been reading about whether ill need CO2 or not and theres alot of mixed opinions. If i feed the plants with fertiliser/pellets, have the correct lighting, will that be enough, or will i need a co2 set up?

Cheers

For those varieties of plants, co2 is not absolutely necessary. They are hardy and will do fine without it.

Even plants like Amazon sword plants all you need is good fertiliser and sufficient lighting. In saying that, the addition of a good co2 system will increase growth rates (or algae if it isn't in balance).
