Hey guys,
I'm looking to offload a few tanks, but it has been a long time since I've sold anything that isn't a live fish, so I have no idea what I should be trying to sell them for. Will list on Gumtree at higher prices than on here.
I've got the following tanks that are in the firing line:

1. 2100L x 510W x 460H (7ft x 20inch x 18inch) tank. 6mm thick glass.

Comes with blue and red painted timber cabinet and hood, brown gravel, running canister filter (generic ebay brand) with very good quality media (Fluval sponges and biomax ceramic noodles. Media is worth more than the filter), full set of glass lids.
Needs a good clean, but in great condition. Probably not display quality any more, but could be if the cabinet and hood were re-painted.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2. 1340 x 580 x 560 (4.5ft x 2ft x 2ft) tank. 10mm thick glass.

Comes with black painted metal stand, brown gravel, same canister filter and media as above, full set of glass lids.
Has a melamine board shelf underneath tank that I have kept 3 x 2ft tanks on, but could easily fit a 4ft tank or sump on it if you wanted to. Very good tank that was built very well with thick glass and top quality silicone. Needs a good clean, but in great condition.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3. 765 x 305 x 375 (2.5ft x 1ft x 15inch) tank. 4.5mm thick glass.

Comes with timber stand. Needs a good clean, but also in great condition. No lids, heaters, filters or anything else.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

4. 610 x 305 x 305 (2ft x 1ft x 1ft) tank. 4mm thick glass.

Just tank by itself. Has blue painted background. Great condition. No lids.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

5. 610 x 255 x 305 (2ft x 10inch x 1ft) tank. 4mm thick glass.

Comes with black sand. Has black painted background and black silicone. Could easily be a display quality tank with a bit of a clean. Has one glass lid that covers around half of the tank. No filters or anything else.

My opinion....

7 footer is custom size so maybe 300 to 400 buckeroos....

4.5 footer is a nice size so 200 to 250 big ones...

2.5 footer couple large pizzas...

2 small tanks maybe 6 pack beer.....

Clean tanks up and take some nice pics... should get a bit more maybe... but economy is rat crap and no one wants to spend their moolah unless they are getting absolute bargain... and feel like they have stolen your tanks for a sweet penny...

Same with everything. Even at work people just expect you to drop prices to beat the guys who are undercutting everyone. Problem is there are so many other people that just cave and go way lower than they normally would so it kind of sets the bar a bit too low.

Back on topic though, thanks for that Johnno. I was thinking roughly those prices for the large two. Posted the 4.5 on Facebook and gumtree for $300 because Facebook crew always try and screw you down and you get stood up more often than not. Is $50 too much to ask for the 2.5 with the stand?

Ask 50 and then prob get knocked down to 25...

If you advertised for example a 6x2x2 for 400 bucks you'll get offers of 200 no doubt....

If you went for 200 bucks as advertised price you'd cop 100 buck offer...

And so forth... till you say free.... but blow me down they will ask you to deliver it no doubt
