Hi I am getting new fish today and was wondering what people do after they add the fish. Do you turn/ keep lights off?feed, don't feed? Just wondering since I can't really find information off what to do after

Are you going to QT? (Do you have existing fish?)

I keep the light off and don't feed for the first few hours.

What fish you adding? If it's a predator I'd usually chuck some feeders in before introducing the fish and keep the lights off. And for any other fish I just chuck them in with the lights off and as chocky said, don't feed for a while. It's nothing to stress about when introducing your fish. 9.9/10 times they will be totally fine what ever you choose to do when you introduce them.

I usually turn the lights off and depending on the species I will feed a small amount at one end of the tank and release the fish at the other end.

if the fish have been in transport for a while, or sometimes even if not, I will add some Stress Coat.

not sure if it helps the fish, but it makes me feel better :)
