#366684 New Adventure.

So, after years of keeping big rays and fish, and a hard week of decision making, I've decided to sell out! And already have mot things sold.

Going to join the marine / reef club.

Will still be keeping a freshwater planted tank, with my bichirs, hujetas and lima.

Watch this space, will keep a build page here for both the 4x2.5x2 reef tank as well as my 4x2x2 planted tank.

First off, need to get quotes on these 2 tanks to be built, never owned a brand new tank, so I decided this time im going to treat myself to everything brand new in box!!

#366534 Sting Ray Pups

Posted by Jules on 06 September 2018 - 02:30 PM

Just an assumption of mixing up the gene's and dived it out - As I bought the parents and how I see others callout rays. Its by no mean the ray genetics. - Im happy to remove it if it cause confusion for people.

I bought the parents as 50 leo 50 motoro father, and mother as a 25 motoro 25 leo 50 mantilla - based on what the rays parents are.

We will just call them 3 way hybrids, most common and easy way to label these rays.

Correct, Mantilla is actually an unidentified species, referred to for its patterning . Interestingly they are believed to possibly be a natural hybrid

Thanks, they definitely are some of the nicer ray pups going around atm.

Got a couple eastern state buyers interested, but prefer local sales first.

#366532 Sting Ray Pups

Posted by Jules on 06 September 2018 - 10:53 AM

Once again I have some really nice ray pups for sale.

Prices and sex in pictures attached.

Born 5-8-18, eating well on worms, whitebait and prawns. Pellet training as we speak and some on pellets.

37.5% Leo / 37.5% Motoro / 25% Manitlla.

Will change colour and pattern as they grow, some look quite promising. Most have dominant and strong leo genes and have seen in previous pups sold the colours and white spots are strong.

Will do a better pirce ofr 2 or more.

Willing to ship interstate.

Willing to trade for exoitcs or fish of interest (rarer plecs, albino gibbi, clown loachs, gars, bichirs dats, cash either way).

Thanks.

Excuse the pic quality, battling LED glare and crappy iPhone 5 camera - much nicer in person

Last Pic - Mum and last years hold back (which looked like male 2 for sale)

Massive shout out to Jase for the Anubias coffeefolia. hopefully it'll grow and last, if it looks to be coping a beating, it'll go into my bichir planted tank.

I'm sure it'll last better then my java fern did.

Also a pic of a heap of stingray pups.

Thinking to put a substrate back into the big tank, thoughts?

#366442 What Spawned In Your Tank Today???

Posted by Jules on 15 August 2018 - 07:33 AM

I can hand feed and pat the big ones, however don't to often.

the barbs on my big female are approx 80mm long and 10mm wide at the base, wouldn't be to forgiving being hit by that - not to mention the barbs are also serrated

And we got another 7.

Definitely the largest and best looking pups I've bred so far.

Think I'm going to have to keep a couple more haha!

If keen, PM me, i can run you through keeping etc and get you ready for them.

Wont be ready for another 4 weeks though until eating independently and well adapted to tank life.

I have 2 sold already.
