thanks heaps, you will have to let me know how your big plywood tank is going !??
The male is being chased away by the female at the moment, any day i'm sure it will change and they will spawn again, hopefully.

Hi Cuban,

None, that I can see, very frustrating. Hows your 2 going still happy in together?

Spewin for you. hopefully they spawn again and you can steal the eggs and raise them yourself

yeah no aggression between my 2 although not much interest from the male either. i think he's more interested in being king of the tank toward the red devil and FH. not really that fussed anyway though as i've got nowhere to put fry anyway.

PS i bought another juvi from midland yesterday to grow out LOL. They've got a whole bunch there for $20 each.

Thanks Cuban.

Guess what my pair is doing now!
Spawning again, no water changes nothing, just the warn weather I guess.

Here's a pic of the latest spawn from 8 days ago:

If you look closely the eggs are on algae covered flat surface.

They are both getting bigger .
Just the pair in the tank now, poor texas got a few shredded fins and was herded inside an ornament and not allowed out of it!

Got loads of wrigglers from the pictured spawn at the moment, will see if the parents eat them.....

Cheers!

Managed to get 3 of the last spawn to 10mm now, rest were eaten by parents, hope to have a male :-)

Sadly you will be dissappointed, my umbee pair are like 6 inches and not very violent at all. Very good actually.
They dont mind me at all, colour change that is all, the craziest fish is my killa umbee.
That one watches you and if you crouch down and your face is near her 'log', she charges the glass trying to bite your face!!
