well i have shut my 2ft marine cube down now but will keep that whole set up dry untill something inspires me to rebuild that.
Leaving the 6x2x2 with rays bass etc for the time being and inherited my mates 5x2x2 so that will either go as a native display or maybe some Frontosa (dunno why but im slowly starting to like these guys more and more).
The goal is 8 x 2.5 or 3 x 2.5 for the bass etc so quoting up prices etc and tossing up ideas etc.

Have you sustained any head trauma as of late? could explain the sudden interest in frontosa. Better off filling the tank with limestone, then watching the rocks.

Alex you make me laugh mate.
I dont know why, but they for some reason appeal to me - mind you they all look the same except a 6 and 7 bar (for obvious reasons).

Im settling more towards the idea of some aussie big boys - and sorry sam but i dont think ill take any barra's..... want to try a bull rout again!

They have been showing more signs of spawning, with the male be super agro to anything cross one third of the tank - the female is looking really plump again, so fingers crossed. this time ill take the eggs out and try to rear some.

How are they doing?

Do you have brine shrimp eggs ready to roll if they do spawn?

BOOM........ wink.gif
Yet another clutch of eggs. (not as big as the last lot)
However, I watched the female lay them for about 1/2 an hour Sunday arvo as i set up my snake viv, and never saw the male to appear to fertilise them? Any body know whats the go here - or what should have happened?

I have left the eggs in the tank as they have lasted alot longer then the previous 2 spawns, and there not being agro to the fish, they just wont let them near the log. Smallest birchers as bite looking marks on it, so there getting moved this week.
