ATM I actually have some fronties in there but will move them out very soon. I'm researching some good tank mates for the arro so still deciding which way to go any recommendations?

Id keep him in the 48x18x18 until he gets around 20-25 cm then move him into a 6x2x2. Then when he reaches 40cm+ Id like to hope I have something larger by then, really digging the ray pen Sam Johns is building at the moment might give something like that a crack once I move into my own house which could be around the end of this year. Pond would be a good idea and give it all the room it needs but whats the point forking out hundreds of dollars for such a nice fish when you can only see it from above ? Each to their own opinion I guess but I think I will be spending alot of time infront of my tank watching this arro

Ahh okay nice Im a fan of fronties myself. Iv read that anything with some good height are good tank mates with arro's like american dat, silver dollars, tinfoil barbs and scats but all would have to be of decent size though. I'd like to keep the arro with a few tinfoil barbs, few red scats, my gold spot pleco and maybe something else fancy in a 6x2x2 (until the arro outgrows it ofcourse). Would really like to keep it with my peacock bass but the size difference wont work out unfortunately and I dont want to risk it after my loss of 5 a few weeks ago

Everyone is looking at eventually caring for a 90cm fish.

I'd suggest a lot of researching on filtration and diets.
This is the key to trouble free smooth sailing.
Supply and demand has beefed up a little over east also.
When supply is supported by sales, then newer types species start to show.
