I have got some small Clown Loaches, around 5cm, in a tank to get rid of some snails (seems to be work, not sure if all gone yet tho)

What size fry, if any, are safe in there with these Loaches?

  • 3mm
  • 5mm
  • 7mm
  • 10mm
  • 15mm
  • bigger than 5cm :)

any experience with this out there?

Fry that hang near the surface like blue eye, rainbow, guppies and Betta fry should be fine. Bottom fry like most cichilds, corys etc will not do so good.

yeah. thanks for that.

figured as much.

just did a water change and still a couple of snails in the substrate.

the Clowns have been in there 6 weeks.

had a bit of a look last night when the blue led was on and couldn't see any. might try the torch tonight after lights out.

still, figure the fry will have to go somewhere else to grow out.

now what is interesting is that they are hanging out in an alpha males territory, and he is quite happy

now this is the same dude that jumped in a fry pen and ate 14

this was not long after he claimed this territory. he was a beta male sharing this rock. An alpha male down the other end of the tank. now I have two alphas.

did he eat the fry cause the other alpha was the dad???
