Hi guys,

I need to mount/hang my LED light but there is a set of drawers in a very awkward spot above the tank and I was just hoping someone could give me an idea on how to get the light up.

Cheers!

Can you not just lay it directly on the glass? Are the light particularly hot?

Would that be okay? I only thought I had to mount or hang it because that's what everyone else does :/

It is good to have an 'air-space' between tank and lights, usaully this is done to prevent over heating the tank water or the light.

But you may see that many people rest their fluros on the tank and they generate quite a bit of heat too.

So as long as they don't get too hot try it out.

My other comment would be.... Can you raise the shelf by 50mm instead?

If they're fanless LEDs you can sit them on the tank but you will need some air flow for the passive cooling.
If the LEDs are fan cooled let them sit on the tank. The fans will draw in the air. LEDs run pretty cool.

How about a bracket like this.. I use em on all my tanks purely because I like the look of the light slightly higher above the water
