Hi guys this may seem like a dumb question but I've never had a sump before and wondering how to do water changes with it do I take it from the tank or the sump or both?? Do I treat the sump like a canister and clean it every 3 months ?? Any advice would be awesome

Treat sump like canister, but the sump should go for longer if the tank can handle more waiste solids towards the next clean.
But other than that, water change like you always have,,, you can do a bit more because the volume has increased,,, just remember the new meds doses from volume increase when or if you do.

Please remember that when you do a water change with either hose or gravel cleaner, your sump will dry completely if you don't turn the pump off.

There's a lot more about sumps though... You should come to a meeting for a chat mate, I love sumps!!!
