Cheers, I was thinkin' something bigger than the gambusia/guppy option. I thought about WPP's but dunno about them breeding in a small pond.

WPP breed readily in even quite small ponds but seasonaly and in quite small numbers, not really a live feeder option if thats what your looking for

hows bout rosy barbs - breeds like flies in a pond and the juves make a good feeder fish. Also looks quite good filling up a pond with their red coloration.

+1 No problems outside for 4 or 5 years now in an ibc, with temp that is i do believe predation from adults is a problem if you want big numbers, Danios or white clouds might be an option to?

I also keep Rosy Barbs in 15 degree water over winter. Cloud Minnows are another fish that is small and can go in coldwater fine. I also have a few different rainbows (southern) in my pond.

I'm not sure... Hopefully someone has tried them.

I was thinking about Dwarf Gourami. Native fish hatcheries breed them to cohabitate with Murray Cod brood stock to condition them prior to spawning. Any one tried Dwarf Gourami in a pond?

Pygmy perch will breed very quickly in ideal conditions.
