Heya.

The only victorian cichlids i've seen are the zebra obliquidens, and the p. nyererei (both nice fish).

Is there any others out there? Like the christmas fulu or the edward lake hap "all red". If they exist, i might be interested in some (hence the classified section :p ). It would be cool to be able to breed some of these rarer cichlids that dont pop up often in WA.

I've seen the a. latifasciata (i.e. zebra obliquidens). I dont think h. obliquidens were ever removed from the lake (www.africancichlids.net/a...dens.htm).

Where did you see the x. phytophagus? (they are the ones called xmas fulus :p )

I must find some info on the fish i dont know about though :p

Oh, and i just picked up a nyererei tonight :p

I've heard of heaps of names for the x. phytophagus but I still dont know where they are available though :p If you know where I could get some that'd be great :p

I got my nyererei from Colleen (aka oo fish styx oo). I think she had some females and they might be breeding, but I cant remember seeing any females last time I looked (but i didnt look hard :p ). The colour is mostly gold body, tiny amount of red towards the top, reddy tail and back of fins. He might colour up a little bit more after he adjusts to my tank but I dont think heaps. Theres some pics here pub79.ezboard.com/fperthc...1011.topic

Nice looking fish, they do look similar to my redtail...

I would like to find some nyererei "makobe island" if anyone has ever seen them...

Thanks...

Phytophagus are available in Perth. I have quite a few. They are a stunning fish. I have 2 batches of babies currently, one batch is 4-7cm the other is about 3-4cm.

At the right price I may be willing to part with some.
