Hi All!
I am just setting up a 6'x1' tank and am in need of some gravel. Anyone know of the cheapest place to buy or anyone willing to sell any? I am trying to put together a heavily planted tank so natural looking gravel that's the right size.. I think 3mm? not too sure. :)
Cheers
Alex.

Heya

Cheapest place to buy gravel I have found is at the Japanese Water Garden on Stock Road (suburb is Beliar I think.)

They have a few different size gravels there, and will probably order it for you too.

As for second hand gravel... I have sh|t loads, but I wouldnt recommend buying second hand gravel... (I would not sell it to you.)

Are you going to have a loam/soil substrate under your gravel? 3mm is rather big if you are, unless your going to pack it pretty thickly. I'd recommend going smaller, and then covering it in a thin layer of 3mm (or going even bigger with the polished river stone or similar...)

Regards
BT

Cook Industrial Minerals (CIM) if you are south of the river and want reasonable quantities.
