New PCS and forum member.

Recently got back into fish keeping, use to keep in the 90's.
Started with the missus keeping goldfish in a 40l, however they did not enjoy Perth summers in such a small tank.

Finally convinced her to keep some hardy tropicals. She came home with a trio of guppies... which multiplied.

"We need a bigger tank" she said. I came home with a 200l.

So started our planted community tropical.

I enjoy tinkering with the technical bits which keeps her happy as it keeps me out the pub.

Currently looking for a canister although current filtration is keeping up well.

Otto 2000 feeding in canopy overhead holding 5l of bio noodles. More is better!

Was at Morley the other day and fell in love with the cichlids so hopefully soon I will be tank shopping!

Cheers for reading!

Welcome Mau,

Morely Aquariums does have some great fish on display. I was in there this week and was super impressed with the africans in particular. Cichlids are great fun, very smart and socially complex unlike most other FW fish. If you enjoy keeping fish, I have no doubt you will absolutly love cichlids.

Hope you give them a go and if you have any questions just ask. There are some very, very nerdy fish people on this forum to help you out if you need it.

Cheers,

Paul

Cheers for the welcome Paul. Baby steps though, I have a lot to learn about the species. Fun journey I reckon.

Welcome! Cichlids are indeed the shiznit. Did I read that right? You have a 2000l/h Otto in a 200l tank? All the fish would be swimming uphill!

Yep u read that right. Otto pumps into overhead filter and returns via 50mm drain so it not bad at all.
