I've had that problem many times Steve.
I just wait for 5 or 10 minutes or so and try again and it usually works.

I've found that it usually happens when there are no new posts.
hope that helps

Hi Steve

This explains it "...search flood control. Please wait at least 5 seconds before trying again..."

Would be odd for it to happen the first time you click on it though. Try clicking it rapidly a few times in a row, that's when it should occur.

It doesn't affect admin/mods which is why everyone that has replied so far hasn't seen the issue.

I'll have a look behind the scenes to see if it can be improved.

OK cheers.

Your prob seemed out of the norm. The error should occur if you keep clicking on View New Posts multiple times within a small time frame.

Can anyone else confirm they get the error when doing this?

Affirmative. wink.gif

Also to reply to Steve I think "view new posts" only applies to new posts since your last visit to the site regardless of whether you have any previously unread posts to view.

I have experienced same message on more than one occasion, and not just on 'View New Posts' - I swore and figured my 'cookie blocker' was set too high.

Like I said, I have the problem fairly often. And I agree with Harry, it usually only applies to new posts whether I have other unread ones or not.

Hi Steve

Did clearing your cookies help last time?
Do you use multiple computers to access the site?
What browser are you using (incl. version)?
What sort of antivirus, antispyware, firewall apps do you run?
Check the www.perthcichlid...... URL link in the address bar. Is it .com or .com.au ?

I just replicated what I think is the problem (same as what others have mentioned above).

1. View New Posts - should bring up a list of new posts since your last visit (does not mean unread new posts).
2. Logout of the site.
3. Log back in.
4. View New Posts and receive the following -

QUOTE
The error returned was:

Sorry, but we did not find any matches to display. Try again and broaden your search criteria. If you were searching for new posts since your last visit, it's possible that there are none to show.

5. View New Posts again (within 5 seconds) and you receive the following -

QUOTE

Do you tend to log out and back into the site often Steve? Is your browser set to not remember your login?
