Something I've noticed not just on the PCS forums but other sites as well is I get to the point that new pages/tabs in my web browser either timeout or get "page cannot be found".

AVG antivirus has a LinkScanner that intercepts this process and it sometimes fails (many reports on the net if you google it). It occurred for me in AVG 8.5 and I was hoping that AVG 9.0 would address the issue but it appears to be worse

To disable:

1. Double-click your AVG tray icon (bottom right of screen near the clock)
2. Double-click Link Scanner
3. Untick the checkboxes under settings
4. Click Save Changes.

To remove yellow exclamation alert mark off the AVG tray icon:

1. Double-click your AVG tray icon
2. Go to Tools menu, then Advanced settings
3. Click Ignore Faulty Conditions
4. Tick LinkScanner
5. Press OK.
