So after a week or so of contemplation I decided to move my bullrout out of the tank he is in on his own in with my other natives (scat monos archers tandanus). I was going to swap him out with the senegal birchir and butis butis that are also in my native tank.
All went well - as I changed the three fish over and fed everyone until they wouldn't eat any more.
Turned off the lights in my bedroom and was still watching some tv so there was still some light in the room. Within minutes of the tank light going out i notice a large shadow creeping his way up to the top of the tank. I notice the monos and scat are shoaling together and moving around alot more than they normally do. The archers are at the top of the tank swimming as normal.
Than SPLASH!!! bullrout leaps out of the water in his pursuit of archers. He didn't eat it but that was the end of that experiment - all fish have been returned to their original tanks
