I have a 6x2x2 that I purchased second hand in 1994 and has been in constant use ever since. Its still going strong, but I have much newer tanks that have failed. When should I start planning to replace it?
Cheers

When you say failed, do you mean that the silicone failed?
I’ve never seen a major silicone failure. A couple cracked tanks but no actual issues with the silicone.
There’s not much pressure put on silicone seems. Keep tanks level and theoretically not a lot that can go wrong.
With the degradation of silicone I suppose it depends on exposure to UV, chemicals, etc.
Anyone else seen total failure of silicone joint?

I’ve had a couple tanks last me for 15-20 years until they were sold on without issue.
My understanding is being dry and exposed to UV is the killer.
