There's another species in the bottom pic,(3rd from the bottom and top middle) Gymnogeophagus Gymnogenys, equally as cool, I'd settle for those if you can lol

Great to talk to you for the first time at the Spencer Jack meeting.
Thanks heaps for organizing this, as it was so informative. Spencer is great, and like him, I also know Felipe Cantera, in Uruguay, (the guide who took him on those expeditions). He is in fact, a great bloke, and seems to go out of his way to make visitors feel welcome.
I know that this post of yours is old, but I may have found a supplier over east who claims, and I repeat, claims, that he can supply Gymnogeophagus Labiatus on request.
They are not cheap, so I'm still trying to source these little buggers from elsewhere to try and find a more reasonable deal. These guys claim to be the only people in Australia that breed these, hmmm, who knows. I'm still looking for Gymnogeophagus Balzaniis too. If you know of anything, please inform me, as I have been looking now for over a year, without luck.
Anyway, if you're still interested in these little buggers, let me know and I'll pass details to you.
Take care.

Agreed that it was a great night! Luv'd those little digs Spencer had at the discus
I haven't seen any Gymno's avail but to be honest I don't really look much farther than this forum and the LFS.
If they're pricey I'll avoid for the time being as I'd prefer to have a dedicated tank for them, tank space is just as rare as the fish for me at the moment! lol
Thanks for the thought though and nice meeting u and your son too Did he learn a bit about the country his Dad grew up in?

They're the fellas I was talking about. $1200 for 4 or 6 I think. Hmmm!!! I would want a breeding pair guaranteed for that price.
