Not exactly local but a good read.
I suppose that's why there are so many plecs in American waterways.
There's some pretty sad videos on pleco control on youtube, not good at all.

Go on youtube and search 'how to catch a pleco'.
They appear to be quite a pest over there.

Why would you be surprised about the Plecos and Gibbs? Grow large, crap heaps and have a fast growth rate. They are also super cheap OS and are relatively cheap is Aus.
