Adonis pleco. IMO one of the nicest looking plecos around at a young age. The white dots fade into black as adults, which is fine as they are replaced by impressive size and spikes!

Love the L155s.
They look like something from prehistoric times when they are bigger. smile.gif

Acanthicus adonis is not as spiky as L155 (Acanthicus hystrix) but the white dots seem to last a long time. You are probably moving them on by the time they lose the dots since they get to a metre. Hystric only reaches 60cm.

Apparently someone bred adonis in captivity.

Right you are... Oops!
In my defence, it seems to be a pretty common mistake! tongue.gif

Nice Adonis smile.gif

Would be keen on seeing a recent photo for growth rates and comparison to my adonis.

You've got some nice plecs there mate! Ive got a single L104 girl i think it is. Also got a breeding pair of L397s and a big fat gibbiceps. They all sure know how to dirty a tank haha. I'm trying to increase my collection over time but i need more tanks!

Scat - I sold the Adonis a few months back. I would compare the growth to that of a gibbi. Solid but not insanely fast.

some albino gibbis

Just another adonis. Took this pic at a melbourne LFS. Shows the transition between juvenile and adult colouration quite well.

Not so bad, had fun keeping the Adonis for a while.

Would love to see some updated pics of yours though. I have to start living vicariously through other members now wink.gif

Hi Spilo smile.gif

Dont know how i missed this ?

Anyway, adonis is doing well, has grown some but not too much yet thankfully as i need more time before going to a 10 foot.

Will have to take a heap of shots on my next R&R smile.gif

Cheers
Craig
