Are there any breeders or shops that have shrimps other than Cherry Reds,

I have a shrimp tank set up, and was just wanting a bit more variety.

Cheers Glen.

I've seen Crystal Reds at Aquarium Artists in southern river, and at Vebas (white/red striped)

however expect to pay $25-35 per shrimp!! (ouch!)
I'd like to see more people breeding to bring the prices down.

Livefish had some Blue shrimps for awhile, then suddenly no more for a long long time, (ever since) there excuse is there shrimps have stopped breeding,
but other information tells me there is no such thing, and what was assumed as a blue shrimp was simply a random clear shrimp thats been died.

However you can't really mix supposed blues with red cherrys, since they can hybridize (crossbreed)
I believe the same with Yellows too. (or any within the same genus)

however you can mix crystal reds with cherry reds, they won't hybridize.

I could be wrong with above info, don't shoot me if i'm wrong.

Yes I will be moving to Crystal Red Shrimp once I get more experience with my RCS.

So far so good.

You can pick up CRS from SeaView in Balcatta or from the classifieds section in AquariumLife forum has private sellers.

I got my RCS from Seaview a couple of months ago and they are all doing fine. Should start breeding soon. My females are all big and very red now. Just moved a couple of smaller paler males into my shrimp tank so it's all go.
regards
