Hey guys,

I have spoken to about 7 guys on my facebook page (Aquarium Enthusiasts Australia) and there all getting 8ft tanks built at this very moment. so many people are going 8 ft tanks now its crazy, hopefully my 8x3x2.5ft tank should be ready in 2 and a half weeks.

Just wanted to ask the question, how big is your monster tank? must be 8ft plus, just curious how many big tank owners are out there and what have they got in them :) pictures will be AWESOME as well guys, cheers.

In my tank I will be having my 50cm and 30cm breeding pair of pbass, a saratoga (prefer a Jar) and a few rays. only want a light stocking as when the pbass spawn it will be easy to divide.

Biggest so far that I know of is johns at a wopping 12x4x2.5 ft.

Fire away :D

that's a big tank, would love a 6x6x20" high for rays though!

my monsters live in a 2100x780x650 tank, all I can fit in my place, and my other preciouses live in a 650 cube.

hey MattyB,

any details on where you getting it built? or are you doing it yourself?

At the moment I have just have a 3ft tank.

I have plans for a 8ft discus tank once my house is built. I have to start looking at where I can get it done. Might start building a nice stand for it in a few months time.

Few rays, Pbass, leichardi, lima s/n, plecos, prochildous and a few others. looking for dats and clown knifes atm.

space is the limit as I only have a smallish unit (plus mrs would kill me), would have to be built in the house a tnak that size id say.

careful its not cheap due to skimping on glass thickness...... I hear of big tanks cracking on the base a bit.

The standard formation is Length x Width x Height.

The standard formation is Length x Width x Height.

Correct but quite often not followed. Pays to check if advising on something as important as correct glass thickness.

I wouldn't trust it at that thickness especially not with any decorations in the tank or big powerful fish. If it were mine id go 15mm sides and 19mm base, and id have it braced!

Not worth taking the chance on such a large volume of water in your house, for the sake of an extra grand or so I wouldn't even consider not doing it.
