Hi Everyone,
Just dropped in to say 'so long, and thanks for all the fish'
I am just draining my last tank now. I haven't bought any new fish for some two years now, and I have re homed my last two silver dollars. All my other fish have passed on over time, as they do.....
I wanted to say thanks to all those people who have helped me along the way. You know who you are!! Thankyou so much.
I have loved this hobby, with all it's adventures and challenges.
Favourite fish along the way.....laetacara curviceps, kribensis, firemouths:who I never did any justice too at all
Highlights: my laetacara's spawning and producing fry, my bettas spawning and producing fry. Never managed to raise any of them, but what an awesome sight.
Kribs: Mrs Krib with her brood and Mr Krib with his torpedo body protecting his crew...raised quite a few of them. Loved every minute of it.
Thanks again, this is the best fish site on Earth Hats off to the committee who after all, work as voluteers, often in difficult circumstances. Well done.
Most of all, my sympathy to all the fish that sacrifice their lives in the name of the hobby.
One last question for all you experts out there. I was draining my last freshwater tank, and the heater has been off since yesterday. Anyway, the water went up my nose? Any cause for concern? I don't want the roles to be reversed
Thanks again everyone. May your fish live long and produce viable, saleable fry so that you may prosper.
Regards,
Donna

Osprey

Hi everyone,
I was photographing the osprey in Mandurah, when I noticed one of their chicks had died. It was a pretty sad sight seeing the body hanging out of the nest. The parents were quite distressed and quiet, so the other people that were there thought all the chicks had died.
Just as I was leaving and lost all hope, the chick started hovering above the nest practicing flying! A great sight!
The council went up on a crane today and removed the rotting chick and confirmed there is only one chick left from what was a brood of three chicks.
Anyway, just as we were leaving the female came for a look! Here is a pic of her. A sharper version can be seen on my Flickr site...address below.

Donna

Friday Night Is Fight Night :)
20 October 2011 - 10:56 PM
Hi Everyone,
If you are looking for something to do tomorrow night, and you think Friday Night is Fight Night, why not get along and support my family member, Joel?
Joel’s fight takes place at the Superfight Australia’s SFA 11: Leven v Spooner event against fellow Perth fighter Ben Foreman, October 21st at the WA Italian club in Northbridge.
Joel would appreciate the support! If you have nothing planned, why not get along to the fight?
Regards,
Donna
