i was at my LFS the other week and one pleco caught my eye, it was red... would it be a red pleco or bristlenose??
it wasn't a albino, it was a redy orangey colour...
any advice or experiences from people keeping them??

nope... it was definitely a B/n pleco for sure..

Possibly a good quality Marbled Bristlenose....there are a few of them around atm.....Maybe call the LFS you saw it at, they will know

Ok I found that on Pleco fanatics. That seems to be the only red b/n on the net

It just looks like a colour morph?
My guess would be that it has the same requirements as a normal one?
But I'm no expert...

guys, they are actually a strain of gold pleco, some sort of colour morph...
next time i'm up there i'll ask rory...

If they didn't have bristles on their nose, they're probably these guys, which are Pterygoplichthys pardalis (albino version)

These are mine which I picked up from Aquotix. They're around WA at the moment. The good folk over at Planetcatfish ID'd it for me. If it has more than 10 dorsal rays it's Pterygoplicthys.
