Ive used ADA Malaya and liked it. Got a bit messy sometimes so next time I'll use http://www.thetechde...tr_F_p/bepf.htm... See if that makes a difference.

I'm happy with seachem fluorite. I'd be interested if any others find it compacts a little and is hard to dig into.

 

I have done reasonably well with gravel but switched over for a high tank tank. Tank is a mixture of fluorite, gravel, api laterite clay (too expensive for large tank) and some sort of volcanic pellet (which is way too expensive for a large tank).

 

Also used soil in pots and happy with that. Great stem growth.
