just an interesting thing i found on religion and i 100% do not mean to discriminate anyone or offend them in any way!

in revelation it says that the maark of the beast is 600 three score and 6, or 666. and he shall have the mark on his hand and head when it says beast it does not mean literal beast it means a power or a person of power!

The 'fish hat' that the pope wears bears the inscription "vicarius filii dei" - wich means, Vicar of the Son of God. now vicar means representative! so is this saying that the pope is the one to tell god who is good and bad? is he the one who satnd above the rest of us on the right hand of god, as a representative? if you believe in a god...

also another interesting point it that the letters of "vicarius filii dei" in roman numerals all ad up to the numer 666, and he shall have the mark on his hand and his head!!!

v - 5
i - 1
c - 100
a -
r -
i - 1
u - 5
s -

Vicarius = 112

f -
i - 1
l - 50
i - 1
i - 1

Filii = 53

d - 500
e -
i - 1

Dei = 501

112 + 53 = 165

165 + 501 = '666'

just something i found!

like i said before this isn't meant to offend or discriminate anyone!

What are your thoughts?

Cheers

#95260 Video Of Dovii

Posted by *S*T*A*R*S* on 24 June 2008 - 12:04 PM in Tank Busters, Exotics, Large Predators and Oddballs

Hey all,

I would have to agree with Aaron. i dont keep tankbusters atm because i simply cannot house them properly with sufficet room. they are awsome fish, powerful, magnificant! i think that it is cruel to 'tease' or 'play' with them as such because in there natural habbitat they are not restricted to 6'-10' in an enclosure. in the wild they are free to travel as far or as little as they like, but in an aquarium if they are 'played' then they are being taught that every time you come near that they get to chase something or have a good feed. how then can you just come over to you tank to enjoy the pure grace and power of most tank busters (tems, monocs, etc) without them going spaz when you walk past the tank. also IMO i think that it can be unsafe for you fish, brusing against the glass and also i know poepl that have had sarratoga's, monoc's and a few other species jump out of the tank and knocking through coverglass, because of such behavioral characteristics.. we recently had a sarra try to jup out of a display tank because there was a gap in the coverglass, (he is 100% just so you know he didnt get out).

just so you all know i'm not trying to argue with any of you as i know that most of us have all had many years of fish keeping under thier belts and respect all ppl's opinions, this is simple my thoughts about the issue...

Cheers heaps,

Arron

#98102 Tank Ideas

Posted by *S*T*A*R*S* on 22 July 2008 - 02:35 PM in Cichlid Discussion

hey kyle...

imo i think for the fry substrate and minimal rock work so that they grow up with out having to hide every time you come near...
i think it can affect how your tank looks further on down the track. im no expert but if the fry grew up hiding all the time wouldnt they hide as adults?

im 99% sure all the spiecies that you mentioned will be fine together as long as you dont qoverstock it too much.

i have all in the same tank (5')

~ labidiochromis caeruleus x12
~ labidiochromis freibergi x2
~ cynotalapia afra 'cobwe' x1
~ pseudotropheus sp. 'long pelvic' x 2
~ pseudotropheus sp. 'salousi' x2
~ dimmidiochromis commpreciceps x2 ( only small at the moment)
~ melanochromis lepidiadaptes x3 (hoping to breed SOON)
~ pseudotropheus kingsizei x3
~ pseudotropheus red top hongi x5
~ Common bristlenose x2

= 34 fish... probly a lil over crowded but they dont seem too mind!!!!!

finaly kyle you get a mbuna tank!!!!!!! they rock

thats my imput, anyone else??.???

sorry to hear about the losses.

i loved all your fish tony! you have some great stuff!!

oh yes brfore i forgget my dad said to teoll you that he would be extreemly happy to help you in designing/ building/ constructing your new fish room/ garage.

see dad is an architect by profession and is involved in landsaping architecture. he progect mannaged the vines, pelican piont (bunbry) and hamilton island resort in the whitsundays..
so he enjoys what he does and is very good at it, but he's modest about it.

he has done alot of small rooms so if you need a had designing/drawing/biulding let me know. he really enjoys that stuff and i think i might have got him hooked on fish!!!

i personaly dont think any fish means to jump! if waterconditions are not right or if the fish is being beaten up or threatened by another fish they tend to get pushed into a corner of the tank! when a fish reaches a corner of the tank the only place left for them to get away is up and i think this is why we sometimes find fish on the floor! sorry to hear about it mate! just another way to think about things! comments on my theory???

#94038 Stripping 8)

Posted by *S*T*A*R*S* on 13 June 2008 - 12:04 PM in Cichlid Discussion

Hi all,

I've been told by some that stripping can stress a fish.
Others have also told me, and i have done this before, that stripping is fine

whats your opinions about putting the female into the frysaver to let her spit naturally??

will it affect her (not enough room)

will she freak out??

Posted by *S*T*A*R*S* on 25 June 2008 - 10:15 AM in Off The Wall

hey all,

I used to keep 2 stimsons, a darling carpet and a south west carpet python!!

stimi's were quite small one was 72cm and the othe about 90cm...

darling carpet was magnificant with his goldy green tapestry markings

south west i didnt keep for lon as he was 1.6m long and couldnt house him. but he was kindly donated to a friend of mine who holds a cat. 5 and keeps a death adder in an enclosure in his room... not a big fan
i just like the ones that cant kill you right!! but to each his own

all snakes were wild caught (lol) with suficent licences, mind you, and unfortunately i dont keep them any more!!

thats it for mee

#98090 Real Tank Busters!

Posted by *S*T*A*R*S* on 22 July 2008 - 12:18 PM in Tank Busters, Exotics, Large Predators and Oddballs

nice effort there jonny..

twist mate i might be getting 3 or 4 but still not a 100% (about 95%)

let me know and gett them all sdhipped at the same time maybe?

i have a small thick plastic pool just over 4m in diamiter and 3/4 m high that i am thinking of changing to a cichlid pool.
had a thought that i might buy some keep a male and female and try to breed them.... would be the most waesome thing to spawn!!!

just out of interest do you have sufficient room for when they get older twist??
ive heard (and seen (video)) that they can get to almost 2.5 feet?? magnificant

Cheers
