Found some multie fry, nothing big but is still cool to see my colony grow, got 200 shells going in with them soon so hopefully my colony keeps at it!

nice fish blakey! im pretty sure we had these guys at Midland a while back, had pairs forming in the tank as well, beautiful fish,

thise 2 bowdy i think are a pair, the suspected female is alot smalling than that male in the tank and i can see from the 2 that the larger male has a different head shape to the female which is a way i sex them by as well,

woke up this mornig to my first mouthfull of these guys,
female has a descent mouthfull, moved them into the bigger tank, they look alot more happier now.

Dad:

the female thats holding is the one that i wasnt sure was a male or female, but i guess that enough proof thats its female

i though they would of been to but there a metriaclima, check out Malwi Cichlids in their natural habitat 4th edition pg 190,
there in there as Metriaclima "elongatus chailosi " chitande island,

these pics do them no justice at all, the colour in the male is amazing, very beautiful fish,

Hey guys, set up a species mbuna tank for a colony of Metriaclima elongatus "chailosi"
there is only 5 atm, 3 males 2 females but am looking for more to build the colony.

The 5 of them are in a 4 x 14" x 18" filtered by a Aqua One CF-1000, i want to have a max of 10 in the tank, i am using the Krystal black sand from Aquotix and crumbled some of the limeston through it to add some white into it, hopefully these guys start breeding soon and i can get some juvies swimming around the tank.

Daz the smaller one (multie) is lighter in colour compared to the larger one,
