#329145 November Auction

Posted by T1gger on 12 October 2014 - 12:31 PM in Monthly Meetings - Next Meeting Info

Can I please ask are there (non-alcohol) drinks available? How about not being a paid member do we have to pay to go in? Do people sell small lots of Livebearers? Does the seller or buyer pay the commission? I just want to know where I stand before I commit to attending

Its a lovely tank.  I wish I had the kind of money you are wanting.  If you reduce it please let me know.  I am currently saving but only have just started selling stuff to buy one so it will probably be a few weeks at least until I get enough money from my current set ups to buy something like yours

#321484 Red Tailed Shark -V- Rainbow Sharks

Posted by T1gger on 15 July 2014 - 08:11 PM in Community and Planted Tank Discussion

Can anyone tell me which one is least aggressive. I have been told rainbow sharks are better in pairs. Someone else said they are the same. Someone else said they're not. I'm do confused and even Mr Google makes it worse. Are these just misunderstood sharks that if cared for correctly thrive?

#321107 Is There A Standard Stocking Ratio

Posted by T1gger on 11 July 2014 - 11:06 PM in Community and Planted Tank Discussion

I wonder if there is a standard stocking ratio that people use.

I am getting a larger aquarium but can't keep all the smaller ones so will likely need to limit the Number of species I keep. I want to keep everything but something's got to give.

#311433 Thanks

Posted by T1gger on 22 March 2014 - 10:12 PM in Vebas Aquariums

I bought some things in Vebas and wasn't given a warranty. Then there was a problem with it. I didn't have the receipt but took my bank statement along with everything I bought back. I was very frustrated that it took so long (about 20 minutes) to sort it out as it was too hot in there. But in the end they gave me a credit note and another warranty for the other things. I then got a very apologetic email with a copy of the receipt. When I went in today and spent it I was in and out and they seemed to know who I was.

Thanks Guys

Thanks

#311424 Can Anyone Suggest A Catfish

Posted by T1gger on 22 March 2014 - 09:34 PM in Catfish & Loaches

That's my problem I like them all. I want a pair of everything but on a budget of virtually nothing. I think peppermints are nice and relatively available. Are they as easy to breed as commons?

#311423 Slate Caves

Posted by T1gger on 22 March 2014 - 09:20 PM in Catfish & Loaches

I have used pots from Masters and wedged in pieces of ice cream tubs making 3 caves from one pot. My pair bred in 2 out of 3 caves, dug their own cave once and now seem set on a ship that just has one hole in. It has a fairly small opening and no bottom with a large hollow. Mine are just learning and trial and error is getting me regular small amounts of fry.
