so basically this is a good reminder to support your LFS rather than chase a bargain online only to be stung this way.

Did a DIY beefheart mix a couple of weeks ago. the discus love it and went crazy when i got this in the tank. its vanished a lot faster than the commercial one i get from my lfs.
I used
Beef heart pieces from woolies
spinach
garlic
carrot
spirulina flakes and
discus trace ( 2 cap fulls )
spinach and carrot were boiled in water for a few minutes. then it was all ingredients in the blender and away we go.
I also added a little gelatine dissolved in water to give it some texture.
here's a couple of pics.
I got 2 large sandwich bags from the amount of ingrediants I used.
I got a video of the discus feeding on this. will post it soon.

i reckon at your age you should be very proud of yourself as you seem very knowledgeable and have a great understanding of the hobby. don't let some idiots let you think otherwise.

its most likely play sand but i would have rather bought it from bunnings, costs around 8 bucks for 20kg.
