Nice work!

How big is the expo? is it say the same size as the perth convention centre?

Could be a perth cichlid forum group adventure :-)

I don't know who you are or what you do...... but you are inspirational! That is truly a love for the hobby when you drive interstate and pitch up a tent to pick up the tanks yourself! amazing work.

Can wait to see pics of your fish room once all completed!

#337831 Bargain! Full Setup Led Remote Controlled 4Ft Modern Black Display Aquarium

Posted by 25GTT on 18 April 2015 - 07:02 PM

Evening All,

Well for those of you who know me well, know that I had a newborn on Xmas Eve, about 1 week after I bought my new 6ft Aquarium.

The 6ft Aquarium is now up and running and my 4ft has laid dormant.

The 4ft aquarium is a modern black cabinet, hood and tank approx 275 litres which is in perfect condition other than a couple of calcium lines (a wet rag would get rid of them) and a couple of black plastic cabinet strips that I have glued back on. There are no scratches on the tank and looks amazing when full.

Most importantly however I have paid $220 to get a full remote control LED lighting install. Yes that's right, remote controlled LED lighting! Essentially from a keyring looking remote I can turn on the lighting, dim it and brighten it with the touch of a button, the LED lighting is amazing and costs next to nothing to run.

This is a full setup I am selling, from the lighting through to the Aqua One Aquis 1200 Filter which has also had the media upgraded inside and has extra replacement hosing and spray bars plus it comes with an air pump, plastic plants, white substrate and I can chuck in some electric yellows and bristlenose if need be. Just supply the water and you are good to go.

The LED lighting and Aqua One Cannister Filter is worth $400 combined so I think $300 for a modern 4ft quality fish tank, cabinet, hood, substrate, air pump, air stone, background, plastic plants and some fish is an absolute bargain! The whole setup cost me personally well over $1200

So $600 for full setup that looks and works near new.

I will be placing it up on Gumtree at a higher price in a fortnight. Wanted to sell it a bit cheaper on here for forum goers whom ive learnt so much from in the hobby that I love!

Anyway enough of me babbling, I will let the pics do the talking.

Please Message me if interested.

#336247 Basically (Why Are They Not Breeding?)

Posted by 25GTT on 10 March 2015 - 12:22 PM

From personal experience I had some blue dolphins. I was so excited when they became pregnant I was like an elephant in my aquarium trying to catch the female. Water splashing everywhere, ornaments falling over, sand flying about.... in the end she spat the eggs. I managed to get 7 fry out of it but she never bred again. I put it down to the stress levels i put her under when she became pregnant.

Was the first batch delivered under stressful circumstances?

Must say mate, I have seen a few of your posts and am very impressed with how you conduct yourself on a forum like this. For 13 years old, your ability to give and also want to receive information is very becoming of you. Great to see you taking a love on for fish and even better wanting to know more about them.

Great to have you on here.

P.S. lets not turn it into a fish food argument :-) lets try and help lexAgate.

PPS Sera Flora is great ;-) hahah!

#335997 Dirty Electric Yellow? Healthy?

Posted by 25GTT on 03 March 2015 - 07:25 PM

I was leading towards the hybrid, I say that as the jaw line looks like it has shades of blue.

When mine get stressed they don't get dirty, they just don't show as much black in the fins and the yellow isn't as vibrant.

When they are about to fight I see small amounts of 'dirtiness' in its yellow but nothing like that.

#334899 Love The Taste Of Aquarium Water... Cough Cough

Posted by 25GTT on 11 February 2015 - 03:56 PM

I have to suck the hoses when trying to feel the canister with water and create vacuum/pressure for it to flow.

Probably is an easier way but i love the fish poo and algea grin!

Smiling rock in wangarra was being talked about in here a bit lately.
Do a search on 'smiling rock' which should give you some ideas and feedback. :)

#323391 My New Tank (Rovik's Revived 760L)

Posted by 25GTT on 05 August 2014 - 08:02 PM

so jealous :-)

Im not the best aqua scaper (does that word exist?) going round, but I always like the look of placing the big objects directly in the middle of the aquarium to form a 'centrepiece' so to speak.

Then on the far left and right sides I flourish with plants.

might take a quick happy snap of my setup to show you what I mean
