Important Announcement to Auction Sellers

 

The auctions have once again become a very popular event with many new sellers looking to sell their fish, plants, shrimp, equipment and perishables. With the goal of accommodating as many sellers as possible as well as continuing to attract regular and new buyers to the evening, we will be looking to make some changes to how we manage the lots listing that will be fair and equitable to all.

 

I will be calling for lots in the near future, so please take note of the information below. Please do not send lots until the formal announcement is posted.

 

 

AUCTION GUIDELINES

 

The number of auction lots will be at the discretion of the PCS Committee, however to ensure the evening does not run too late, the number of lots will be capped around 150. 

 

To assist sellers in determining what lots to submit, the following should be considered:

• Cichlid lots will take preference to any other lots;
   
• To encourage sellers to submit cichlid lots, the PCS has discounted the commission it will take from the sale price (5% vs 10% for non-cichlid lots);
   
• While duplicate lots will be accepted, at the discretion of the PCS committee, lots may be removed in the interest of fairness and variety. Duplicate lots from the same seller will be those initially selected for removal. Duplicate lots from different sellers will be accommodated as best as possible. Sellers will be notified should this occur;
   
• PCS will attempt to include all sellers submitting lots, however preference will be given to those submitting lots 2 weeks prior to auction night; and
   
• All perishable items (e.g. food, chemicals, water treatments) will not be accepted unless they are sealed (i.e. unused).

Lot 64 has been changed to a SGCF donation lot. I could just not say no to a donation lot of 10 Tropheus Moorii Kasakalawe  - Chris, another Tang to add to the list so makes 10 now

Hope to see plenty of buyers.

At least 10 tang lots at the moment....that's more than most auctions, so they are on the come back.

Once the club tank is up and running with the clear themed winner, Tangs, we hope to see more lots at auction as well, just because their behaviour is so amazing to watch.

It is, however we have added an extra month in.

Only 4 days to go, so don't forget to send me those receipts. Competition closes on Tuesday, 28th February (no exceptions). All receipts will need to be with me (Mac via PCS Forum) by latest the 5th March for me to get them into the draw. No receipts will be excepted on the evening of the meeting.

 

To date we have approximately $9,000 spent at sponsor stores with only 15 members in the draw.

 

The draw will be at the Andrew Soh meeting on Tuesday, 7th March, so make sure you are there to pick up your fantastic prize. If you cannot make it, no worries, we will contact you after the meeting to arrange pick up.

2 months in and the shopping has definitely picked up following Christmas. We have approximately $6k spend at sponsor stores to date with one month to go. 

 

There are currently only 10 members in the competition but all have had multiple buys. Not bad odds for them with 5 prizes up for grabs.

 

Come on all, get down to your local sponsor store and get those receipts in. Lets not let those 10 have all the fun. I am heading to the store right now to secure my chance.

 

If you have a receipt and have not sent it through or are waiting to accumulate more, please get them in as soon as possible to avoid the rush at the end.

 

Remember, competition finishes on the 28th February 2017 (details on how to enter are above).

Any advice on preferred size of breeding group, m/f ratio and size of tank?
